If you’re looking for the ultimate summer refreshment and you like limes, I’m pretty sure I’ve found the drink for you: Brazilian Lemonade, also known as Limonada Suiça. But here’s the twist — it’s actually made with limes.
In Portuguese, the word limão can mean either lemon or lime, and in this case, we’re blending whole limes — peel and all — with water, sugar, ice, and the magical, pandemic-beloved ingredient: sweetened condensed milk.
This drink is vibrant, creamy, tangy, and unlike anything you’ve tried before. It’s a little bit tropical, a little bit frothy, and utterly irresistible.
How Does IT Taste?
Bright, tangy, frothy, creamy, Brazilian limeade is practically a mocktail. The limes bring a vibrant citrus zing, while the condensed milk smooths everything out with a gentle sweetness. The result is a frothy, icy-cold beverage with a texture somewhere between a whipped drink and a slushy — light and airy, but not thick like a milkshake.
You might expect it to taste like a lime Creamsicle, but it doesn’t. It’s way better — more balanced, more vibrant, and incredibly refreshing. It’s a drink that manages to be both indulgent and cooling at the same time.
Perfect for a hot afternoon, a summer brunch, or just when you need something a little extra to brighten your day.
